2020 has been a difficult year for everyone on many levels. I realize those words don't even begin to describe things. Just when you think you have reached a sense of normalcy, another problem arises. Some problems are bigger than others. However, when Satan rears his ugly head in your own world, the problem is huge. For others, it may seem like a simple bump in the road. Stress in life is inevitable. Some carry stress better than others. Sometimes the stress we allow to weigh us down isn't even ours to carry. However, I have been reminded, in order to manage stress, we need support. We were put on this earth to help others. During stressful times, we quickly learn who we can count on for support. Unfortunately, we also learn who we cannot count on for support. When someone comes to you with a concern, listen to them. Don't dismiss someone's concerns because you don't deem them valid. When someone comes to you in despair, offer hope. Don't let someone walk away in pain. When someone comes to you crying, respond with genuine concern. Don't respond to those who are broken with harsh words or angry tones. When you see someone treating someone else poorly, speak up. Don't allow others to be mistreated. Don't pretend to love others, really love them. Listen with your heart, as well as, your ears. Don't allow status, roles, or positions to keep you from being humble. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. A true leader responds in love. Without love, we are nothing. A true leader has a humble servant's heart. Aim higher. Be like Christ. Help carry someone else's load. ~ Jan 💖
