We are living in such a time of uncertainty.
We have been asked to stay in our homes and to participate in social distancing.
We haven't gone:
to work
to school
to the mall
to movie theaters
to libraries
to restaurants
to gyms
to worship
to salons
to parks
to weddings
to funerals
to visit friends
to visit the sick
to welcome new babies
or to anything like we did before Covid-19 hit our country.
We have left our homes for necessities.
We have left our homes for work if we are considered essential.
Those considered essential have also been on the front lines of this virus on a daily basis. Those people are heroes!
Almost everything we did before Covid-19 has now been done online, or virtually.
This is a whole new world for many but some things we now are doing just weren't meant to be done online for long periods of time.
eLearning, for instance, was meant for temporary periods.
However, we all have managed to make things work.
We all have been coming together by staying apart.
Many of us have suffered bouts of anxiety due to the isolation, the unknown, the fear of financial failure, and/or the fear of becoming ill.
Even though all around us, the virus has been wreaking havoc, I have still tried to count my blessings.
We have been given the gift of time like never before.
I have tried to focus on the things we HAVE been able to do:
get enough sleep
eat regularly ... including snacks
exercise
go outside
breathe
have some time to ourselves
have time with my family
stay in touch with others via technology
But most importantly ... time to pray!
As we prepare to reopen our state tomorrow, a little anxiety still exists.
However, I have re-learned:
time is a gift
not everything is worth returning to
and most importantly ...
God goes before me -- always!
Let's be kind and take care of each other!
