My role/identity has changed many times over my 55 years. Some roles have run concurrent but some have come and gone. Some changes in my roles have been intentional while some have ended suddenly. Some changes were my choice. Some changes were someone else's choice. Some changes just evolved over time. Some of my main roles have included daughter, sister, aunt, friend, student, employee, wife, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, neighbor, mama, mommy, deacon's wife, supervisor, teacher, mom, elder's wife, mother-in-law, grandma, and child of God. The one thing I have strived to do is grow with and in each role throughout my 55 years of life. I hope I continue to grow and learn. A change in your role can be hard no matter how it comes about if you allow it. People see you differently. People treat you differently.
